Applying to DDSN: The South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) is the state agency that provides services to children and adults with severe, lifelong disabilities.

Applying to BabyNet: BabyNet is South Carolina’s interagency early intervention system for infants and toddlers under three years of age with developmental delays, or who have conditions associated with developmental delays. BabyNet matches the special needs of infants and toddlers, birth to 3 years of age, who have developmental delays with the professional resources available within the community.

Family Connections: Family Connection of South Carolina changes the lives of families with children who have a disability or special healthcare need by making connections, raising awareness, and promoting inclusion. They are a wonderful resource for help when raising a child living with special needs.

Applying for ABC Voucher: ABC Voucher is a scholarship granted to families for children in child care if they meet income requirements. If you qualify and are approved, tuition will be provided in direct payments to The Champions Center for up to 52 weeks. This may cover all or a portion of child care costs. The scholarship amount you are eligible for will be determined by factors including tuition rate, our ABC Quality level and your child’s age.

Help Me Grow: This program will assist families in connecting children to the grid of community resources that help them thrive. They also build parent and provider understanding of healthy child development, supporting community services available to families and how both are important to improving children’s outcomes.

Tri-County Therapy: The Champions Center partners with Tri-County Therapy to be able to provide physical, occupational, and speech therapy to our students. If your child attends The Champions Center or another school and you are interested in therapy services, you can click on the following link to request a screening.

Child Find Services: The child find process is a collaborative one with school personnel working in conjunction with parents to locate, evaluate, and identify children who may need special education and related services. Greenwood Genetics: The Greenwood Genetic Center is a nonprofit institute organized to provide clinical genetic services, diagnostic laboratory testing, educational programs and resources, and research in the field of medical genetics. Children with BabyNet and/or DDSN services can be genetically evaluated for free.
